Internal documents which require a signature will always indicate who is authorised (or required) to sign them. In case of doubt, the Master must seek advice from the Company.

    

Only the Master may sign documents received from ashore, and if crew members are asked to sign documents they should refer the person making the request to the Master.

The only exceptions to this requirement are:

- Bunker delivery documents: the Chief Engineer is authorised to sign these

- Stores/Spares delivery documents: the CE, CO and 2E are authorised to sign these
